Roof Rack

Am looking to start going surfing down the coast again this summer so am looking for a roof rack that will fit my mk2's.
Found this on ebay

Anyone know if this will fit or has one themselves that they can recommend (Or sell me?? )

Looks the same as mine so I think it will fit. I paid nearly £100 for mine new so looks like a bargain. Only thing he says is the key might not fit all the locks. The locks are in the 4 plastic covers that go over the fixing screws hence you won't be able to lock the rack onto the car.

see if you can get some off a vario!they look good for standard items!thats why i havnt taken them off!

I had these but sold them!

To fit you have to force back the rubber roof gutter seal. This ends up permanently misshaped/damaged after time allowing water/salt/crud to underneath!

I'd look for a system that fits over the top!

Erm, are you going to fit some gutters to clamp the roofrack to? Otherwise that Beetle rack will never fit. Ibiza rack is car specific (i.e. Ibiza, Cordoba, Polo Saloon, Polo Estate).

yeh you would need to get the clamps from the ibiza specific, then bolt on the retro one to the clamps.

yeah thats what im getting too, the guy next door to me is a carpenter, so he's making me something up to fit the ibiza, will take some pics when it's done and on !
