Cheers guys :)

The Leon flew its mot. 3 in a row with no problems :)

Fog lamp kit has arrived but no bulbs were supplied in the kit though. Everything else is in the kit. Have ordered a set of H3 bulbs and hopefully they will arrive tomorrow morning so it will be an early start to get the front end stripped and fit the new wiring loom and get it all back together ready for the Staffs meet.

Oh yeah. The now tapes were from when I first bought the Leon. It only had a tape player for a week until I managed to get a cd changer.
I'm 30 so I do remember when those NOW tapes were released :p

30 isnt old..... Just about in your prime. Glad to see your ticking all the right boxes when your enhancing the Leon. ;)

Christ, I'm only 23 and can remember having NOW tapes!

I was over the moon when I got a CD player for my Christmas in 1994!

No offence dude but your L E O N badge really isnt level by the looks of it! Some nice subtle mods otherwise! :)

Yea it was done at work on the car park. Looked level until we stood back and noticed part of the car was in a little dip in the tarmac. The badge was removed just over a year ago now :)

A mate of mine has still got NOW 1 on vinal :funk:
First thing I had that played audio cd's was the Sega Mega CD add on for the Sega Mega Drive. Was 12 months after that when I had a cd system for christmas :)

Fitted a set of fog lights today. Was a right nightmare to do. Found more work that needs to be done to the car once the bumper was off :(

Crash bar needs replacing as the passenger side is dented. Probably explains the small outward facing dent just below the bumper trim. Nothing major though and hasn't affected the structure of the car any except that the bumper is about 2mm lower on the passenger side.

hey buddy, looks like your car has gone through a few changes. Can i just ask your opinion on the K&N panel filter. I have a 1.6 s which is different but thought it would be more relevent coming from you as most users here seem to have a cupra or something bigger. I have done alot of modding for performance on other cars but have never tried a panel filter before im not after roars or anything just wondered if it had any significance to the standard paper ones.

Nice fog lights, and was the silver console (interior bit) made for you in germany or was it a sort of one off which someone had sprayed?

cheers matey. The panel filter combined with the air feed extention has made the pickup a little smoother. I could smooth the airbox as well but really don't have the time or patience lol. There is also a whistling sound that can be heard when i accelerate now since doing it. The centre console was bought like that from Germany. Have seen a few others around for sale not long ago but none recently. Chrome heater controls were bought from v*wnw last year.
Have been thinking of getting a dash kit but don't know yet.

Where did you get that silver control panel fascia mate? Looks much better than the standard black one, and how much was it?

Rookwise.... how bigger pain in the butt is it to wire up the fog lamps?

I've got new grills and the lamps, and know it needs a new light switch, is the wiring there or do i need to make a loom up?

BTW... nice car m8.. well impressed.. :)

I had one of those on my Toledo... Got it on German eBay. :)

Thats where I got mine from :)

£35 in total I think it was.

The wiring loom isn't there mate. You will need to get it from SEAT themselves. It earths near the battery then clips into the front panel behind the bumper. You also need an adaptor for the headlight wiring as you have to remove a wire out of the headlight loom plug (number 3 wire I think it was) and refit it into a new plug connector for the fog lights. Cable tie the fog light wiring loom to the cars other wiring either side.

Fog light loom is about £40ish
You will also need a new light switch for the dash. They are around £87 for the one with front fogs.
To remove the light switch. Push the switch handle inwards and then turn clockwise to release the clips as the unit is spring loaded.

If you have a faulty dimmer switch. Its a good idea to replace that as well while the light switch is out. They're £57 just for the dimmer rocker switch alone.

To be honest. For the parts you need. It would have been far better and much cheaper to buy the complete fog light kit from SEAT as its only £135 and you get everything you will need (fogs, grills, light switch, cable ties, wiring loom + plug, blanking plug, chrome grill kit, instructions)

If you've removed the bumper before. It wont take long to fit the fog light kit. Main problem is getting the power wire out of the headlight loom plug. Also remember to use the cable ties on the fog light loom as its quite easy to cut the loom into 2 piece's when fixing the bumper back on the car (I did it but soldiered them back together and everything works fine)

Brilliant.... cheers for that m8...

135 quid for the lot?? Bloody hell that's cheap.. i'll put my s/h lamps on ebay and buy the kit.

Don't happen to know the part number for it do u??? :)

I must put some pics up of my 1.6 as soon as the new wheels are on (to be truthful still not decided on wot I want yet)... lol

And I found fitting a K&N, removing the stupid trumpet thing in the airbox and fitting 60mm silicone/alloy tube cold air inlet pipework makes a noticeable difference..
