Sat nav leon mk2

Hi

Has anyone on here found a good aftermarket sat-nav stereo that will work with the built in phone and wheel controls in my 2008 leon .

I'm trying to find a way of upgrading to a sat-nav system without paying loads for a seat unit !

Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

Cheers

Pretty sure no aftermarket stereo will allow you to use the SEAT Bluetooth system. You'd have to wire in a microphone and use the aftermarket Bluetooth.

I've looked at those they are Cheeper , the only downside it they display VW on startup . There is a company that will supply and fit a MFD3 seat unit for £600 does that sound a good price ?

I got my RNS510 for £600 off ebay last year so they should be getting cheaper now. The VW start up doesn't bother me at all and should in no way stop you from buying a frankly amazing bit of kit.

I'll be buying one soon, and have a disc to change to the seat start up screen

Correct mate,

Ive got the Bluetooth as standard, and I bought a Kenwood DNX-521VBT, fitted that, which then disabled the stock BT, but the BT on the Kenwood unit replaced it

OP, the thing is once you go aftermarket, it will also disable the stock Bluetooth voice control.

This is why I took the Kenwood out and bought a RNS-510.

Get a VW RNS510 off ebay for between £400 - £500 mate, then change the coding via VAG-COM to tell the car it has a SAT-NAV unit installed, then everything shows up on the MFD - even directions when the nav is in use

The VW RNS510 is better anyway as it has the SD card reader which the SEAT version lacks. As above shouldn't be too hard to change the startup screen :)
