Seat Altea XL 2008. Reverse light turns on when tailgate lock is engaged.

Hi,

Got an Altea with a strange problem. When I engage the tailgate lock the reverse light comes on. Position of tailgate irrelevant. Same story if I disconnect the lock, reverse light comes on.
Also, the front wipers don't work, saw in another thread it might be connected, though it sounds weird. Only error code is for front wipers. Tail wipers work.
Seats are rare here, so I don't have much schematics to go on, only a few in German.
Anyone seen this issue?

Gave it some thought. Likely the tailgate lock giving mucked up signal about closed or not to the comfort ECU.
Ordered a new one.
