Seat Easy Connect - Phone - No Network

Hi All

Hopefully someone else has had this problems and it's not just me.

I've recently noticed that when my iPhone is connected to Easy Connect, where it would normally say Vodafone or O2 it now says No Network. I can still make calls and receive calls, however these calls are put on hold shortly after answering them.

This happens on both of my iPhones, work and personal. Both are running iOS 8, although I can't remember if this started before or after I upgraded them?

Have anyone else noticed this? Is there an update to Easy Connect and is this done normally by the dealer?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me :)

Many thanks in advance.

Snap - started today. Suspect Apple changed their BT profile or something!?!?

Could be an issue with Apple but if not looks like we are stuck with this. Unlikely Seat will update their head unit!

Oh no, I was hoping it was just me and then at least I could potentially fix it :( Oh well fingers crossed Apple will sort it or maybe just maybe Seat will issue a fix? Might have to downgrade my work phone to iOS 7 for a while until a fix is released either way.

Will reply here if I find anything out.

Cheers

It would seem it's quite a wide spread problem so hopefully Apple will issue a fix:

The below is my work flow for getting the Bluetooth connection between my Seat Leon ST - Seat Easy Connect working again properly after upgrading my iPhone to iOS 8.0

[Start]
Pair another phone (I used another iPhone, which still didn't work) this is only a temporary pairing so you can totally remove your existing iPhone profile

I then went into the Bluetooth settings on the car a deleted all other profiles

Then on the iPhone I deleted the car pairing

Then on the iPhone I changed the name from Dave's Work iPhone to Dave's iPhone Work (Settings>General>About)

Turned both the car and the iPhone off

Started the iPhone back up and the car and selected find phone from the car

Waited for the car to find the iPhone then chose to pair

Selected accept on the iPhone and yes to the keys matching

The car then synched with the phone and displayed the network again (Vodafone)

I've tried multiple calls now from it and they've all worked

I've still to try synching my iPhone 6 as all this was done on an iPhone 5s running iOS 8.0

I'll report back on how I get on with the iPhone 6 on iOS 8.0.2 when I get chance.

Cheers

My 5s still appears to work fine since iOS 8. The phone did lose it's identity, so it just came up as "Iphone" rather than the name it had before, but everything appears to work, and once I changed the name again on the phone, it displayed it just as before.

My iPhone 6 still doesn't work but I'm going to follow this guide in the morning:

Apple’s release of iOS 8.0.2 brought a number of bug fixes to the new operating system, but many iPhone users have reported Bluetooth connection problems with automobiles, including some of us here at Cult of Mac.

Since the iOS 8.0.2 update, iPhone users have taken to Apple’s Support forums to report that they’re unable to initiate calls over Bluetooth. The bug seems to affect a range of iPhone models and automobile makers, but there’s a quick solution that can get you back on the road and slinging cars while you drive.

Just follow these quick steps:

Warning: This fix requires you to Reset All Settings which also has a bug that deletes all your iWork-related files in iCloud Drive. Backup documents before proceeding.

Whether you’re having difficulty pairing your iPhone over Bluetooth or answering calls, we’ve had success fixing iOS 8.0.2’s Bluetooth woes by resetting all iPhone settings. To do this, open Settings and go to General >> Reset >> Reset All Settings.

resetallsettings

This method has been successful for all of our autos, as well as for most Apple Support forum users. There are still a number of iPhone user who report Resetting All Settings hasn’t fixed their issues. We’ve reached out to Apple for comment on the Bluetooth bug but haven’t received a comment at time of publication.

Any updates on this issue?

8.02 with some tinkering by disconnecting and reconnecting via Bluetooth will allow me to initiate calls via the iPhone 5s but steering wheel controls and screen controls are now useless. Any time I try to make a call from steering wheel it says dial up failed after two rings. The number then freezes on the head unit screen.

Could really do with a fix soon.

Looks like people have discovered by the inactivity of this thread that ios 8.1 fixes this particularly for iphone 6 users.

I now have a working phone/car combo again - woohoo !!

8.1.2 that was released last week is aperantly solving most of the iOS8 BT issues.
You might have to do a "general - reset - Reset all settings" to get it to work.
As always, make a backup before you do this and make sure you ONLY are choosing "reset all settings" and NOT the erase option.
This will reset other settings too such as wifi, background pics etc but keep your data on the phone.

And again....always make a backup before you start.
