It was me driving the car. Took one out on a good test drive yesterday.

A spur of the moment thing hence the pics I took are with my mobile phone and I've used a couple of SEAT press shots in the article too.

Nice car, has its positives and negatives. I like the DSG when I used it in manual mode, and its fine to let it get on with it when you want to be lazy like being stuck in slow traffic. But I wouldn't rely on the sport mode that much for spirited driving its just a bit confused about what gears it should be selecting and when to select them...stick to the manual mode and its a great fun little car. The engine is brilliant, performs more like a 2.0Litre.

Great read and it was helpful to actually see the dealer-fit spoiler and side skirts, I felt like the car looked a little unfinished at the side before hand, I'll definetly be having both of those parts ordered for when mine arrives.

Thanks for the comments, it was an enjoyable morning and well worth blogging some thoughts on.

I must thank Nigel and the team at Ted Johnsons SEAT for the opportunity to test drive the car.

A good read that. Your comments about DSG align with how I drive my FR. I use 'D' 90% of the time on the commute and flip to manual when I get a chance. 'S' is pointless as far as I'm concerned.

As I said in the report, S might work well on a track day, but it didn't seem to work that well on the open road, it interferes too much.

But D was great for just cruising about A-B, nice and smooth, quiet and refined. I would love it for my morning and evening commute where my Leon Cupra can get tiring.

Hi Mark

Glad you enjoyed the drive, just been down to the New Forest in the Bocanegra for a few days, about a four hundred mile round trip!
What a drive! :scary: This was the wife's face!

I was surprised when you floor the loud pedal, it keeps revving and revving and your trying to anticipate when it will change gear. Then seamlessly it just slinks into the next gear without even a flutter and keeps on accelerating. Its pretty cool :)

I agree with you aboput the car ZBOYD. The gearbox is clever. In D it will change to a more economical gear ASAP, but it does react when you hit the loud pedal, it changes when it changes gear then, but if you are going to be giving it some, defo S or the paddles. I'm currently running my engine in so I only cruise about in D and uyse the paddles and S when the engine is warmed thoroughly. Glad I got A Bocanegra and glad it finally arrived.
