I have a seat Leon 2012 40k I had the glow plug light come on two weeks ago and the car goes onto limp mode at 2100 rpm sent to main dealer who replace the egr valve 6 week previous to this fault and they said it would be £4700 plus vat to repair I opted to get a none franchise garage to change the hp fuel pump clean fuel lines change the filter same fault moved the car to specialist diesel garage to ran more tests change the fuel sensor on the common rail still same fault they don't know what else to do I have spent £2k same fault could it be a software
problem as the engine runs fine till 2100rpm has any one any ideas please


Find yourself a decent skilled technician who knows
how to fault find, I might be wrong but it sounds like you have had people who are no more than part fitters i.e Change one part after another until till they either get lucky or the customer gets fed up paying for their lack of technical skills
Part fitters are two a penny, find yourself a skilled technician, might seem more expensive to start with, but they will normally find the fault without making the parts departments monthly target on just your car.
Also probably best to make your post in the mk2 forum, someone there will likely be able to point you in the right direction
