OK......... this is the information that I have.

I had the same with Seat customer service when I asked about the update for the 2.1 they didn't have a clue....

I have the 2.0. This is the discs that I got, that gave me the full postcode search and the most up to date maps at the time:

SMC Seat in Exeter......... Jeff in their parts department emailed Seat UK who now reckon that it won't have the 7 digit postcode.... will have to wait & see when it comes, does seem funny tho as 2.0 & 2.2 are now 7 digit postcode search & this SD card will do the 2.2 as well !!!

It would appear that Seat are not updating the 2.1 system at present(I have a 2010 Cupra R). This has been discussed on here before. I know the chap who owns my local dealership. If I dont see him in the pub tonight I am going in tomorrow to buy an Ibiza for No 2 daughter and I will ask him then. If I dont get any sense that way I dont think we ever will. I will update you when I find out.

Ive just asked my dealer for updates for my cupra r with 2.1 media. They just said they supply new discs for the sat nav. But I told him I want it on the SD card, hes supposed to be emailing me back with more info. I wonder what would happen if I copied the sd card to another sd card and put it in another leon?hmmmmm

It seems to me that there is confusion over the different Navigation Systems. I only have knowledge of the 2.1 system. In the instruction book there is no mention of updating this system by disc only by SD card. I think the confusion comes with the 2.0 system which is a completely different system which is updated by disc.
I look forward to an update as the 2.1 system is useless compared to my old Tom Tom which is 7 years out of date!

it annoys me that some SEAT dealers still talk about CD's how can they be so out-date on their own systems. I had the part number checked at Ted Johnsons and their isnt much of a detail with it, just says SD card for Sat Nav, so they are checking and getting back to me.

This really is another load of crap from SEAT, the 2.2 and 2.1 run on the RNS315, so the update should be simple, just give us the software you use for the 2.2 when you load it up in the factory!?

Spoke to the dealer on Saturday and they informed that an update was available for the 2.1 system. However it was out of stock and they were waiting for a resupply. They said that when it came in they were going to try to copy it themselves and would keep me updated. I asked about how much it was going to cost but they didnt know. I need to go there again today so I will have another go at them re cost and post the result on here.

Ted Johnson's said nothing about it being out of stock, but didnt know what it was entirely, so anyone wanting to take the plunge and buy one blind and let us all know, it would be most appreciated

Graham,

Jeff at SMC Exeter read out the part description to me & it stated it was the v2 Western Europe Map Update for the 2.1 & 2.2 Media Systems on an SD Card........

This would tie up with VW version for the RNS315 which has just gone to v2 Western Europe.

Ok just picked up my update on SD Card from the Dealers.

On the box it say's,

Seat Navigation System Europe West V2

Seat (Seat Media System 2.1 / 2.2)
Volkswagen (RNS315)
Skoda (RNS Amundsen+)

So folks the Map Update does exist...........

Graham, the box just say's map update......... they are Navteq maps......... I quickly put the card in but it states it may take up to 120 mins so I'm gonna try & load it tomorrow.
