Vw made the italian an offer he couldnt refuse to leave fiat, samw with alfa designer walter da silva and now Giugarui ie Italdesign so little wonder sales have risen along with sharper Italian design.

da silva left SEAT in 2007. The current SEAT design look is surely from Luc Donkerwolke (previously at Lambo later at Bentley) - now poached by Hyundai late last year.

I bet the sales jump would have been even higher without diesel-gate.

All good though - a few years ago rumour said VW would kill off SEAT as it was performing so poorly.
