i have just bought my mk1 Leon cupra
And the previous owner told me the
secondary air pump was disconnected because it was noisy,
Obviously this has put the em light on,
I never reconnected the pump to check it but I ordered a new pump and am just about to fit it but before I do I have seen lots of posts about people just leaving them off and just want some advice please

People mostly remove them because it's broken/leaking. If you have a new one just fit it and forget about it. Clear the code after and light should go out.

If s usually the plastic piping that goes and makes the noise rather than the pump itself.

Woth checking as cheap to replace

can also be that the rivets work loose, drill them out and replace with nuts and bolts if your wanting to repair it. Fitting is fairly stright fwd
