Main tip probably being, make 100% sure you're buying the car you want before committing to it.

And if buying new (any make of car) expect a big drop in value as soon as you drive it out of the show room, that's why you need to keep it for at least 3 years to get your moneys worth.

I have some sympathy with RabRS for rocking the boat.

Do I think my 1.8TSI FR is a very competent, capable car? YES!

Do I love my 1.8TSI FR? No.

Make no mistake, the 1.8TSI is a far better car than what I used to have, but I just can't manage the same emotional connection that I had with my previous straight-six elderly Beemer (warts and all).

Haha exactly my thoughts pal will order a m140i late next month just will see how much of a hit I will have to take on the seat.

Btw what mpg you getting, I constantly thrash mine probably because I don't like it and wish I bought a 2 year old s3 but mine is doing 30 mpg which isn't bad considering. But saying that I did a really steady 200 mile motorway journey and only managed 39mpg so it's not great.

Yes, just enjoy the effortlessly sweet straight six and the frisky thrills of the RWD! As others have said, the Leon loses at least one third of its value in the first year.
So, I've decided to hang on as long as I can, maybe another 12 months before I can afford to change.

Winter MPG is markedly poorer than summer. I can get above 42 mpg if I limit myself to 65 mph on a winter's day on the motorway.
