Should I have added the extras?

I may be thinking too much about this - I ordered my Leon on 23rd June, to make sure I got it with the included Tech pack and before price changes happened (prices only ever go up!).

Now I'm wondering if I should have paid extra for the pack I didn't include, at the time thinking they don't add that much for the money.

So, a few questions.

Of the packs below, do you have them and how useful do you find them/are they worth the cash?

Will my dealer be able to modify the order?

Packs I didn't include in my spec that I'm wondering about now:
- convenience pack
- driver assist pack
- alcantara (cloth/leather) seats - this is just the material right, or different shaped seats?
- adaptive cruise / front assist

I've got the winter pack and convenience pack. Couldn't live without either! Especially a heated bum during the winter lol

I've got the winter pack ordered already. I do early starts for my commute... figured it would be nice to have working washer jets!

Don't get excited about the washer jets, in my opinion they're useless! End up making more of a mess on your lights and bonnet lol Look more forward to the heated seats ;) lol

The convenience pack is good obviously for auto lights and wipers but then also in the settings you can have the windows auto close when it rains which is clever integration - not sure how many times it will happen and its no great shakes to do it manually but just a nice feature and shows some thought has gone into it.

LED pack is nice for what it costs.

Driver assist and adaptive cruise only if you live on motorways although some may not agree. Driver assist can also be modified in VCDS to recognise speed limit signs which is more useful for town driving.

+1 on the heated seats !!

Convenience pack couldn't live without.

Alcantara seats are nice and nonslip and make the interior nicer but not critical

Driver Assist Pack didn't order this as thought it was just lane assist but also has extra cruise control stalk which I'd have liked.

Adaptive cruise really wanted this but it wasn't an option to order earlier last year

Rob2k68 is the auto closing windows (and sunroof?) when it rains a VCDS coding or standard? I've never noticed the option in my menu

Yeah I was in a rush buying mine as my current car lease was coming to an end and thought the auto lights were standard with the FR as I've had them on most cars, missing them now!! Put the lights on last night, then drove around this morning with head lights on, obviously forgot to turn them off last night. Luckily they turn off when the car is off I would of had a flat battery this morning!

Ordered my 1.4 FR on the 30th of May and I opted for convenience and winter packs, both of which give me the items I have on my current car. Don't really need the driver assist pack, my wife gives me running advice on lane position and speed!

It's more of the lucky dip I'm concerned with at present, to see what the car has and does not have fitted, like the flap over the lower cubbyhole in the centre of the dash; I will be miffed if that is missing as I've already bought an FR badge to stick there, just to make it look less bland.

I went for the 18" alloys then cancelled them as I think I may find the 18" a tad too hard for my liking, still don't really like the standard 17" FR wheels though; I may fit something else soon after I get the car.

What did they tell you about delivery tine?

I guess this depends on how much you paid. There are a lot of very low milage 'standard' Leons with tech pack on auto trader with a big discount. I got a pre-reg with lots of toys (tech, convenience, titanium, sound, driver assist, full leather which includes winter) with nearly 6k off the list.

I could live without driver assist though do find it useful. Titanium is purely visual so not essential. Yet to see the benefits of tr winter pack. Love the convenience and upgraded sound though.

TBH, I think heated seats are a bit of a novelty. Unless you have a garage to start the car and leave it running for ten minutes before you set off (or live in an area with absolutely NO crime), by the time they warm the seats, the chill has gone.

I agree with you about the headlight washers; they spray everywhere when the headlights are on.

To the OP: I'm probably about to order mine, and I'm going to go for the City Emergency Braking/Adaptive Cruise Control (the mood music is that it's likely to be standard in future just like ABS), convenience pack, 18" alloys, & space saver spare (the idea of being without a spare tyre frightens me; I've had one puncture in the last few years, but filling the tyre with gunk would have meant the difference between a £10 repair and a £100 new tyre plus not having a car for a weekend).

You'd honestly be surprised by the heated seats in the Mk3, never known heated seats reach a decent temperature so quickly.

Spare is an option. Without it you get the repair kit. Useless for large punctures.

Well, I've just called the dealer to ask if it's possible to amend my order to add ACC and Convenience pack/what they would cost.

I guess if they say it's too late that'd probably be for the best to save the cash!

Reckon I can sort a spare wheel later.
