Depends what you want the car to do for you.
Personally I would drive them both on a potholed road with speed humps on first before parting with your cash!
See if the lower powered engine suits - it may do but it's not going to have the mid range punch of the 140. Also, are you loading the car up with family/luggage?
I have a Stylance, the reason I went for it is the suspension is softer - that said you can still feel every bump in a broken road surface. I find it just this side of bearable, but then I do 50k a year and I take a lot of punishment to my back for four years if I choose wrongly.
Mines the 1.9TDI with 104 bhp and to be fair it feels much quicker than the figures suggest, and being fully loaded doesn't seem to affect it at all. I also get late 50s MPG, £120 tax and group 5 insurance.
As well as the Sport having firmer suspension, IIRC the alloys are bigger which compounds the ride firmness. Mine are 16", I think the Sport are 17"?
If you are doing ave miles all this may not be an issue, but for higher miles and passengers it could be too firm a ride for some tastes.
Also with the firm ride more noise gets transmitted into the cabin on a poor road surface, again, could be an issue if you use handsfree phone.
