Sticky Dump Valve???????

Ok so i have been having problems with the LCR, When i am really going for it, 6k+ an change gear there is a noise like the D/V is sticking open and i get no boost, (this is occasionally not all the time) today i had what i can only describe as a massive lurch between 1st and 2nd (like boost cut) which obviously concerned me. If i come off the throttle when it is doing it, an go back on it clears an spools up and is ok. I took the D/V off and did the check that forge reccomend, cleaned it, re-greased it, and went for a spin, seemed ok and then did it again, could it be that the O rings are perrished??? an does this sound like a D/V problem, it only happens when i change gear, not in normal driving...any ideas peeps, an before i get the "do a search" i did, for 45 mins and couldnt find anything that sounded like my problem...

have you checked all pipework for leaks?might be a leaky hose.
secondly ,a very nice e-mail to forge on how great they are may get you a service kit for free ;)

edit: 6000+ rpm? probably running out of puff anyway ,change up

he needs to take it over 6k rpm to try and out run some fast diesel ;) :roflmao:

I looked at pipework connections when i had the D/V off, and couldnt see anything, i shall email Forge and see if they will send me a service kit, fit the new O rings an see if this cures it, doesnt sound like a boost leak had one of those before and it was really noticable.....Its only on gear changes too, not on normal driving...

hi my boost just comes and goes when it wants i think i have a sticking DV has any 1 else had these problems my boost is gone more than i have got it just comes back for a few minutes then it goes again im sick an tired of taking it to psi tuning could any 1 shead any light thanks?

blimey an old thread....

Dv is possible, but should be showing up a fault code. (although not guaranteed).

Split leaking pipe is possible,
But then so is a fault N75 valve...

know anyone with the same car? happy to swap parts over to eliminate and fault find?

where are you in the country?

im not sure what hot side is my friend but its on the right hand side of the engine i suppose it is near all the stuff what gets hot oh and thanks for the reply!

has the car had a non genuine MAF put on it? mine did this when when i got a cheep MAF

im not sure if it was a cheap maf i have not had the car long think psi tunning demapped it for me but still this problem exsists they tell me they are doing some sort of a log thing tommorow hopefuly this will pick something up i will let you all know if they find anything

hahaha thanks mate i will get them up im still not sure what im doing on here yet but i think i will get the hang of it eventually

hi all i have sorted my problem out i think it was a cheap map (chip) it is running fine now its on the stardard setting so i will take it back soon as i can and try out a proper chip the guys at PSI tuning have done all the work for me so it will go back their for a real remap not a cheap 1 will keep you all informed on how i get on thanks again
