Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked before but I plan on stripping my interior to dry it out, but I'm worried about taking out the front seats due to airbags etc, I think I disconnect the negative, leave for an hour then whip the seats out. Problem is they may be out for a while, how long can I leave the battery disconnected before I get immobiliser/key fob etc issues? Remote fob already wont work but I only have 1 key so cant reset it :( Any advice greatly appreciated!!!

AFAIK you can leave the battery disconnected as long as you like, you shouldn't get any issues when you reconnect, the other option is to find someone in your area with Vag-com who would be willing to switch any airbag lights that come on, off. Where are you?

Thanks for that, I'm in east Lincolnshire, Skegness to be precise. Fingers crossed I can whip them out tomorrow and get it dried out ready for the weekend refit!

Disconnect the battery then make sure everything's plugged back in before you put the battery on and the key in the ignition will be fine

Cheers, sorted the leaky doors (I hope) tonight so, assuming its dry, I will whip the seats out tomorrow and get drying
