Sunroof headroom

Hi all - been lurking on these forums for a while admiring everyones' cars!

I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger on a Leon SC but am struggling to figure out whether to order the sunroof.

I really like the look from the outside (especially on nevada white) but am worried about headroom inside - in particular as the SC will probably feel smaller anyway.

Does anyone have an SC with sunroof and are you able to comment on front and read headroom?

I'm 5'11" for reference.

cheers in advance!

I'm 6'3" and have ordered a Cupra with sunroof. The democar I drove had the sunroof and I had plenty of headroom.

Best bet go test drive one, or at least sit in one with the roof at your local dealer just to be sure.

The sunroof puts a lump in the roof lining just behind the drivers seat so it shouldn't effect the front seats. If there's any real effect it would be that people climbing in the back will need to duck slightly more, but seeing as getting in the back is just a case of throwing yourself in and hoping for the best it shouldn't make much difference!

That's great thanks JK1.

unkl77 - That was my plan but unfortunately none of my local dealers have an SC with a sunroof for me to test :(

I've got the panoramic sunroof in my SC, you won't know the difference. Plenty of headroom in the back and front.

I tested an SC Cupra at Sheffield with the bucket seats and had plenty of headroom.

As the roof pops up then slides back these's minimal effect inside :) unlike the usual problem when the roof slides inside the headlining.

Mines a white 5DR and it looks great with the black roof!

Also, the lack of buffeting is impressive. I had a BMW 5GT with a pan roof and that was awful!

thanks for all the replies! Think I'm going to spec it - can't resist how good it looks with the nevada white paintjob!

I am just wondering why somebody is ordering sunroof?!

It is quite costy, opened sunroof means you have more light on head and worst overview outside through the front window (as might happen that sun blinds you from the top), later more problems with the sealing.....

I have experience with sunroof on different cars, did drive 5km max with opened roof and then close it totally, I need dark surroundings, not sun everywhere...

To pay 800 Eur I would rather order something else...

Because here in the UK we need to make the most of the 1% of the time it is not raining

I've got a Scirocco at the minute and the sunroof is a must to let in light- it brightens the cabin.
That's the reason I've ordered the sunroof on my Cupra, plus the fact it actually slides on the Cupra!

I must admit I'm jealous of the STs even longer sunroof!

Also gets the heat out on a sunny day. Walk up to the car holding the unlock button and it slides back reducing that blast of heat you usually get opening the door. :p

I bought it primarily because it looked good but I do like driving around with it open when the chance arises!

You could drive a standard car with a top-hat on so I can't see a sunroof posing a problem for anyone who's not a giraffe!

This is the first car we've had in decades that does not have a sunroof and we miss it. Sunroofs are great things. It's not just the light but the virtually noise-free ventilation you can enjoy by popping the back of the roof up.

DEAN0, you killed it!! :D Then I understand. :)
You know, here is at least half of last month over 35C, so I am really happy that I can be hidden in car with aircon with as less windows as possible. I would be happy if Seat is providing the darkest rear windows as possible.. I know I could foil it, but I cant, due to my wife :D If it would be origonally provided - what else can I do?? :D
