hi

im needing a bit of help, ive got a 2008 leon fr tfsi dsg, im wanting a bit of advise about induction kits, ive read a few threads but not really got the answers, is it worth fitting one? whats a good value good quality kit? where is best to get it from? im asuming it will give it a meaty sound but do you also get wastegate chatter? sorry to ask so many questions just dont want to waste my money on something i wont be happy with, ive had inductions on other cars and 1 or 2 being very good but some seemed to restrict the cars performance.

thanks in advance for all your help:)

that sounds really good :D, has it made a big difference do you think?

Performance wise there is not much between the intake kits available. Probably 15bhp when used with a map? Over the standard box. If you've got money to burn and spend a lot of time with your bonnet up get the forge, but if you want to loosen up the breathing and make a great noise the neuspeed is more than capable. There appear to be a lot of over engineered units about which I can't justify the extra money for.
Open cone filters give the most noise but some people can find it too much, to make the flutter noise in the video you give it some gas then let off the throttle then blip it again.
if you want to drive slow it's not in your face, but if you give it the beans it will turn heads.
Best hardware I've purchased for my DSG.
try awesome gti for it, top service too.

thanks for that, that has really helped me and to be fair answered my questions, ive just checked out the nuespeed kit on Awesome website and some others too and for what i want it seems really good, i cant afford the twintake and i wont be getting a remap for another 6-12 months so it seems spot on for me
cheers :)

engine is still standard

I would suggest you to remap to stage 1 first before considering a induction kit if your going to spend good amount of money save a bit more for a map and then go with induction later because with a remap example (revo) you get a boost increase which can be heard even with the trial map however this is the same with (apr). If I was to do it again I would do a stage1 remap first. (only using 2 maps I know of and experienced there are alot more out there aswell) Hope this advice helps as I think getting a induction on non remap is very little gain for the early stages and also worst MPG.

Agree with dave hence my comment 'best hardware mod', i'd uprade software first. Neuspeed runs great with my Revo Stage 1.

another repeated question thats been answered on the forum numberous of times...should really use the search function. Anyways warranty is going to be the same for induction or remap as its still a modification however remap can be removed and put back to stock with switches (additional cost of course) anyone on here will tell you remap will gain alot of power than a mere induction kit too expect gains around 30bhp and extra torque? regardless its the way forward cost well i suggest you go on the revo website or even the tunning section they have prices already posted there (prices vary).

Sorry to hijack the thread but just a quick question to Knight Rider i have a 07 plate fr at stage 1 bluefin otherwise standard and looking at the Nuespeed P Flo and as you have this intake any issues for me to look out for im just wanting to avoid potential issues with the maf and flatspots in the mid range as car runs fine at the moment on stock intake but wanting more sound and maybe a little more power also looking at more expensive intakes ie evoms twintake itg, yours and anyone elses feedback would be much appreciated.

No problems since fitting mine with the map or as standard. Fitting is a doddle once you get the dreaded engine cover off (same for every kit) It's literally one big pipe with a silicone joiner that uses a jubilee clamp, same for the cone end and away you go. For noise then the neuspeed is louder being an open cone as opposed to the foreg or ITG, the evoms is pretty much the same principle. Just find the one piece design of the neuspeed looks a lot more professional and to the point.
I personally can't see the point of the forge unless I was at shows and constantly had the bonnet up so people can see the shiny alloy and carbon fibre. But that doesn't warrant the extra pounds! Not to me anyway!

they all do the same job at the end of the day just depends how much you wanna spend - I got my twintake from forge for a good price hense the reason i have it if not would of went with the p-flow me thinks too (cheaper)
