The mother of leon mk2 1.9 tdi's

Hello all,
I am fairly new to this form but have used it on and off to get info on different parts of my car. So basically I bought my Leon in December 2012 as my first car. It's a 2008 1.9 tdi with a factory fitted BTCC kit. I live in Northern Ireland and bought it in England with 37k on the clock so I drove it the 500 odd miles home and really got to know and like it. When I bought it the only modification it had was a bluefin remap.

The mods I've done so far are as follows:
A full turbo back stainless steel 70mm exhaust I used a 100cell race cat and milltek back box.
Custom remap which left the car with a healthy 150hp. No problem dealing with golf 140s anyway :)
Eibach Pro-Kit and Bilstein B8 dampers (great improvement - less roll, squat, dive and stay off the bump stops on the back roads of Northern Ireland)

Small mods include:
Aluminium seat sport sill protectors
Leather gear stick gaiter
Centre arm rest
LED sidelight and number plate lights
LED interior lights
Seat sport side stripe
Smoked side indicators
Linea r grill
Parrot 3100 hands free
Also fitted a Witter detachable towbar

To be done in the near future:
Proper 4 wheel alignment by tire safety centre in cookstown (great place full of proper petrolheads not the usual know alls)
EGR delete and EGR Cooler delete
Boost guage in driver air vent.

To be done depending on certain things:
Flywheel and clutch
PD150 injector upgrade
GTB1756 turbo kit from darkside development
.622 fifth gear set (calculated 70mph at 2000rpm)

Ok everyone Ive got sick waiting for 15 posts so I'm going to update you and do a few quick posts then.
So I've taken delivery of my EGR delete from darkside developments and am hoping if I get out of work at a reasonable time on Friday to fit it that night.
I'll probably not get the boost gauge done at the same time as priorities have changed around a bit and I now want to get some Rosten rods in the car asap as the standard BXE rods have a tenancy to put a leg out of bed :(

I'll try and get some pictures of the EGR delete when I do it incase anyone is interested. From what I can see it a dead easy thing to do.

Hello everyone,
I've had a few advances on the motor.
First off I've had my four wheel alignment done and this is the print out.

The car has totally been transformed. The car feels a lot more neutral in corners and its now possible to get lift off oversteer with the ESP turned off which is fun on private lanes.

Secondly I've deleted my egr and egr cooler and have a few pics

This is the egr cooler in position behind the intake manifold.

With the egr cooler removed I put a fitting on the coolant out pipe and plugged it into where the coolant in comes from which is the top coolant pipe in the fire wall in image.

The finished result look pretty oem to me. I've kept the asv which is good for when someone like my mum may drive the car who would no what to do with a run away diesel.

The inside of the egr cooler followed by egr valve it's self.

Comments welcome and subjections of good improvements please.

Lovely looking leon mate, I also have one with the btcc kit but mine has the twin pipes on the left of te car. I am wanting I go to twin exit like yours, don't suppose you have any pics of your original backbox off the car so I can see what it is like?

I have the same BXE engine and have it remapped too. Was just wondering if you have noticed any difference/improvements since fitting the EGR delete?

Hi mate, Sorry for not replying I havent been on in a while.
The biggest improvement on my car was the exhaust the car went for not quite being able to stay with golf 140s to being substantially quicker.
The egr hasn't made any noticeable different to power however the car is more responsive and generally nicer to drive.
I dont no if u know the iPhone app dynolicious but I use it and have found it surprisingly accurate and my car is supposedly running around 158hp it does feel that quick.

Hi mate, I dont have any pictures of the old exhaust as it went straight to the local scrappy but it is very similar to the one I put back in (in pervious posts). The only thing that may be a problem is on the duel exit exhaust the silencer is mounted on two hangers one on each side. I wouldn't have thought your car will have this but you could probably make whats needed.
