think the clutch has gone!! how do i tell?

not with mine mate, had no clue at all it was about to go. Perhaps worth getting yours looked at to be on the safe side.

Got mine fixed today, had to buy a clip set and new clutch pedal (£23) in total. Mechanic took about an hour and charged me £30 so overall it wasnt as costly as it could have been. Got a bit of a scare when I first drove as the clutch kept making a clicking noise when lifted...on closer inspection it was catching one of the plastic fittings and once I secured it that porblem went away (phew).

Di you have any symptoms before it went?
the reason i ask is my cluctch pedal feels weird it feels like biting point has raised to the top , i remember there used to be a bit of free play if u rested ur foot on clutch pedal while u were driving instead of on the footrest (i know bad habbitt) and now that free play not there , feels stiffer.
Just feels weird through my foot.

Sounds like your bad habbit has cost you a clutch. Because its hydrolic you don't realise that that little bit of play you can feel is actually putting preasure on your clutch. Have you tried putting it in 2nd gear with the hand brake on tight and trying to set off. if you can't make the car stall with the clutch fully out then your clutch is slipping which would make it bite right at the top. If your hand brake is rubbish like mine you might need to find a hill to try it on.

I dont do it all the time just noticed it more recently, i know my clutch is slipping but thats from 4th , 5th and 6th , there have been quite a few posts where the car just revs coming on boost from 3000 rpm onwards , done 70k on it mind you.
So i know i need a new clutch just wandered what the symptoms were of this particular problem.
