Trip computer hacks?

I vagly remember reading about some hacks on Golf trip computers (used some on my Mk2 Jetta) but I think there were some for the mk4 golf as well, (alowed you to get things like a digital rev counter rather than MPG) are there any that are known for the Mk4 Ibiza?

On the Mk2 it was definatly the trip computer but I guess it could be the climate control on later cars. Thanks.
