Thanks. But with Ateca they took a good couple of years so since they are not getting VZ5 they should atleast give us the ABT option soon rather than using it after 2 - 3 years as a sales technique to increase decreasing volume.

yes i know where you are coming from,i may get the DTUK not sure yet got a long wait still...sold my M240 i last week, missing it already ,having to car share with the mrs.the Beemer had a bluespark tuning box fitted and an agency power ram air kit ,a pedal box and a m performance exhaust. in this setup it made 426bhp on the rollers and 601nm .the torque was awesome it was a handful in the damp !. i also had a tuning box on my golf R before the beemer.
i would not hesitate in using DTUK as a provider for an extra bit of power for the new formentor. they have on the go a long time and use german kit and tuners.

Do they not only fit to new cars via the dealer before collection?
at this time yes .i got this back on friday.

Currently as it stands Unfortunately we are unable to offer the ABT Power as Seat UK have exclusivity on this to the Seat Leon Cupra ST, Cupra Ateca Edition and Formentor which can only be purchased as an option when new.

But i know that Seat Are looking in to offering an aftermarket solution to this with us so watch this space

Kinds Regards

I don't think ABT for Formentor is a dealer option anywhere in Europe. One member fitted it and reported that his warranty on engine related parts is void.

I doubt they will do it anywhere as a dealer option like on Atecas as VZ5 is rated at 390 HP so having a tuning option that puts a 2.0 TSI at 370 HP is too big of a competitor (it might even be faster due to lower weight than 5-cylinder engine).

Newbie question here..if you were to remap or add a tuning box to any car that is on lease...does that mean your warranty is null and void and you could be in trouble from the leasing company?

Yep, but if it’s a quick plug-n-play job, you can whip off the tuning box before the car goes to the dealer...

On my Golf 7 GTI it was a tedious job involving removal of the engine under tray to get access to a fiddly connector...

i think Andycupra93 is spot on if i lease or pcp ,i always use piggyback boxes so you can remove easily.
the E888 engine has an awkward bitch connection front bottom to do, but you can do it ,jack car up one side undertray off ,done a few golf R with this same engine.

Why did you sell BMW and replacing it with Formentor?

TBH i had it on a pcp due to end sept ,i paid the settlement figure to BMW and made 6k the same day buy selling it on ,plus saved £1500 on remaining payments so a no brainer.so i am £7500 better off than if i kept it until September.
also i said i would get something a bit different this time,it was an awesome car with not one issue in the 2.5 years i had it.i can honestly say its the best car i have ever owned.golf R was second best but did have a few issues ,and yes i am getting a car with the same engine in lol....i had DSG issues and an oil leak 66 plate Golf 7 R.

Been thinking about this. Was a pain with the Golf R having to jack it up.

Is this the same with the DTUK?

How easy are the pedal boxes to fit and also, can you fit one on its own? Just thinking about this slight delay on the throttle response and if you can address it without messing with the engine. 🤷🏻‍♂️
