Turbo

Hi

New to this forum l

I have 2014 Leon FR petrol. recently the engine management light came on and the car went into limp mode. To cut a long story short my garage are saying the turbo has excessive carbon and the value is sticking.

The garage are quoting £700 or a recon turbo or £1100 for an original part. Excessive? The garage say £1300 all in to fit the recon one.

Am I being ripped off? Would it not be cheaper to sent my faulty turbo off to be reconditioned?

Advice please

A lot of garages wont fit a recon turbo as they cant guarantee its been done correctly.
They would rather fit an oem part to save the bother of having to replace a faulty recon turbo.

Personally i would purchase a new oem turbo.

Check the price for the turbo online.
What engine is it?
