Tyre rotation

Just measured my tyre treads and am considering "rotating" them diagonally front to rear. I like to do this for even wear on all 4 so that I replace them all at the same time with the same brand and spec.

The garage I normally use for tyres advised me not to do it. They said that Michelin (my tyres are Bridgestone) changed their advice on tyre rotation to advise against it due to different front to rear suspension alignment settings.

Now I am not sure what to do and would appreciate forum members views on this.

Rotate front to back on same side, doing it diagonally will change the direction of rotation, a lot of tyres now are directional, as long as the sizes aren't staggered I have always have rotated front to back to even out wear.

Of course your garage say that! That way you buy new front tyres.... Different alignment settings? Load of shite.
