Pretty scathing of the bridgestone potenza's on the car
lasted next to no time, grip isnt that great and they're stupidly expensive

im soon to replace all 4 tyres and im wanting one of two options

i plan to get black alloys for summer use and chuck proxes on those
so i could put nankang ns2's on the speedlines (used these before on gt-four and they were surprisingly good, better than the potenza's)

OR

I just get all new tyres that are decent and forget about the 2nd set of alloys for the mo.

I dont want to be stung with a 400 bill for a full set of tyres.
After something that will last as long as poss as i do alot of motorway commuting but also back road thrashing as well.

Any suggestions more than welcome

cheers

Well most popular replacement choice is Eagle F1 GSD3s, not sure these are the best choice for long life though!

I will at some point be treating mine to a set but since I don't use my car for commuting and not even every weekend it could be a while still for me on the std RE040s.

tyr www.blackcircles.co.uk where you order and they deliver to local firm and fit etc locally. £200 all-in for Toyo proxes T1-R with them but £280 withe the same tyre dealer fitting them. They just bill blackcircles for the fitting.... also mytyres on the web.
Search for other threads on tyres here too mate

i got my last set from mytyres
black circles is expensive really, are you sure 280 for a set of 4 proxes, but they wouldnt last me anyway and id just get annoyed

think it may be the trusty nankang ns2's again for the moment, unless anyone can comment on life of p6000's or eagle f1s

Yep - talked to the man in the office there today. Fitting works out at about £11 per wheel inc balancing, vlave and disposal - nbot got a friend who does tyres!!

Yes it does seem that mytyres are a little bit cheaper for tyres only at about £131 compared to BC at £155 delivered.

p6000's or eagle f1s
imho p6000 are false enconmy, they did last over a year on mine, but grip levels go off at around the halfway point, not dangerously, but its something noticeable, eagles imho are fine till near the limit.
swings and indeed roundabouts, why not try uniroyal rainsports? better wet grip than eagles, and a slightly better wear rate, but a few quid more.i've gone for eagles all round, funnily enough because of the price, they are the cheapest "branded" tyre i can find at the mo.

I actually tried but didn't like the rainsports. Better in wet yes, but much worse on dry. At least they where during the hot summer months (but you don't get those in the UK...;) )
hot and summer? explain please:confused:
