Usb fails to work

Hi guys I’ve got a 2016 Leon , the infotainment system is 5QA035858A
Hardware H30 and software 0359.

the usb will not connect my iPhone via the media button . It just says ‘ err usb device ‘
Do I need the full link upgrade for this to work ?

You may need an upgraded USB to upgrade to Full Link. But I think the USB should just work for media without.
Have you tried a different cable or different phone?

Yes tried various cables and phones ,a seat sales guy said that some of the 2016 models lacked software but I’m not sure
