Vag 305

My ABS light keeps on coming on intermitantly so I thought I would invest in the Vag com device.......as I have a desktop computer and no laptop unlocked to install software (anal work IT department).......the device that looks good is a Vagscanner 305....does anyone have one???

It looks pretty good and will be capable of reading codes of when I update my car from the current Ibiza 2.0 GTi 16v....any thought on this chaps n chaplets?

does it give the fault description as well as number? if only the number you would then have to look it up?

I think you will have to look up the fault codes - is there any benefit to having a reader display the description apart from saving a little time?

guess not, i was just speaking to a supplier and they give a fault code book with theirs.

im ordering a lead and was going to use vagcom, but if you dont have a laptop the hand held devices look good, just dont pay over the odds for them.

You get a fault code book with this one too....its from the US and only £26.95 + £6.50 delivery.....have you heard any differences with diagnostic differences in different countries? i would have thought they would be standardised

well i asked about the product they supply, not specifically the one you are looking at, and they seem to think the codes are universal.
