Vag Com and Head Unit

About to fit a new Becker unit to my LCR and Im sure I have read somewhere that changing the HU can upset / blow my vagcom if im not carefull, something to do with a K line getting a voltage, I think this was the problem from memory, tried a search but couldnt find it.

Can anybody remember this and give advice on what to do to overcome it.

Cheers, so basically disconnect the pin going to bottom pin ref 3 and all should be ok ?
