Hi everyone, I'm new on the forums but been looking about on here for a while now,

I'm currently having issues with an engine light that is driving me mad and thought someone here may be able to help. I bought the car 6 month ago and it's been awesome, however I've had the engine light come on

I did have warranty on it (or so I thought) so went through warranty process and it turns out the dealership I bought the car from went bust (Trinity Motors in North Shields) so I have no warranty as it was dealer backed, however they didn't charge me for the diagnostics and told me I just needed to replace the exhaust pressure sensor.

Replaced the exhaust pressure sensor and cleared the light and didn't see issue again for about a month then it came back, scanned it and again I had the P0471 (Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance)

Looked into it and found that I'd been given the wrong sensor (for an 08 I need VE393014 and they gave me VE393012) so I had that swapped, cleared codes and it seemed ok but came back a few days after.

I don't have VCDS but have a cheap wifi scanner (elm327) and dashcommand which shows me the errors and allows basic clearing of codes but honestly haven't a clue what to do with it.

I've googled and searched about on this site but can't find an easy answer other than replacing the sensor, some others say you need to do something in VCDS on some cars to make the car learn the new sensor properly?

Can anyone point me in the right direction, or know anyone in the north east (near Sunderland / Newcastle) with VCDS that could do a scan to see if there is any extra information it can give me?

just for anyone else coming across this issue, I eventually ended up with limp mode, took it into garage and they said it was the exhaust pressure sensor.

They couldn't read anything properly with the sensor that motor factors sold me, replaced this with a genuine Seat part and it started reading everything fine. DPF was then at 85% though so had to put it on machine to clean it out, now down to 1% full and working fine, hopefully won't see this again, but if I do I'll update this.
