I wonder if it'll still work on the move.

Let us know how you get on with it. I reckon I'll probably end up grabbing one of these too before long.

Very likely need to enable VIM (video in motion) via VCDS for it to work whilst on the move.

Had a quick search around but haven't found any instructions specific to the MK3 Leon for doing so unfortunately.
Possibly the same trick which works on the Golf and A3 may work on the Leon too? Someone who has played around with VCDS more than I have might be able to answer for certain.

i can confirm this cable will give an extra set of option on the headunit , aux needs to be ticked then you have configuration options available for video and you can choose a source too now :)

cheap for £11 , pity i do not have a device with rca out to test it yet :(

I bought a similar cable from eBay. Have just tried it with the dvd player from my house and works no problem. Brings up av as an additional source when you select media. Sounds good watching films with the sub from the seat sound system. Would be good if the screen was a bit bigger though. Haven't tried driving yet but presume it will cut out.

Yeah does cut out due to vim. Searched on the web and vim can be bypassed - same as mk7 golf and new audi a3. Appears to be unable to be done using vcds. There is a cable called vag can pro which allows programming of various modules. They have a specific file that you download then write to the car and it bypasses it. Thing is the cable is £165. Shame it couldn't be done via vcds.
