Just uploaded the new ST Cupra pictures and noticed an updated version of the MFD with Mirror link showing: https://www.flickr.com/photos/117264142@N04/16485495835/in/photostream/

Think this will have been asked before but any way to update the software?

Scott

looks to be a different unit , but theoretically if mirror link was transmitted via bluetooth i guess its only software , if it is wifi that is a different matter all together

the ability to control the phone via the touchscreen on the head unit would be excellent .

I'm easily confused...

What would I need to purchase to allow a mirror link from my phone?

Cheers :)

From experience in car TV tuners tend to suffer from poor reception , especially digital units. For that price I would doubt the quality will be great. The only good ones I've seen are oem tuners which usually have various antenna throughout the vehicle combined with amplifiers to obtain a decent picture. I'm going to fit a single din size dvd player under the passenger seat.

i agree with that but i wonder could the dab aerial be tapped into , as i know on audi`s they share the same connections

having tried a android box on the headunit the resolution is so low that it is nearly impossible to display a usable picture , i think the video in feature is best suited to a dvb-t2 tuner or media player box etc.

one of these would do but not sure how you would get a decent signal , wonder if you could tap into the dab aerial ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-HD-D...539?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19fa491393

you have hit the problem to the seats Unit having such a low resolution and slow processor that its not worth bothering with for anything

You would as well have a 8 inch tablet on display in the glove box for TV or Films

There's a listing on ebay advertising VIM for MK3 Leon for £80. In Coventry.

Yeah saw this as well. It's a guy from an audi forum that has managed to do it. Price seems rather steep as all you need is a vag can pro cable and then they provide a file to reprogram the control module to allow vim.

I've just installed a din size dvd player under the passenger seat and connected it via the av cable. Dvd player cost £15 new and cable was only £10. Works fine although I have a slight amount of interference through the speakers when the engine is running. Going to try rerouting the rca leads as they are currently run with the power leads. Took the power source from the cigarette lighter fuse after moving it up a position so it is constantly live. Interestingly it would appear that the permanent live goes to to sleep after a while as the dvd player remembers the last position ok unless left for a few hours .

for just player movies i would not bother with dvd really as most movies you can download anyway
a usb media player would have done the job.

i have one of these coming

bought it for £40 so £50 to have tv installed :D , what i like about it is it has a usb slot too to play media , just wondering where is the best place to mount it , had a quick look behind the glove box but does not look like much space is there

Dvd player suits my needs hence why I went for it. From experience of previous digital TV tuners at ten times the price of the one you have quoted the reception is not great and not worth the hassle of trying to install aerials .

the tuner i bought is normally £220 but i got it from someone who never used it so got it for £40

i have used this one before in a merc http://www.multiconn.it/en/products/das-dvb-t

that had 4x tuners and worked everywhere even 100mph on the m40 :D

the cko one has the same chipset dibcom which has a very good diversity system you dont need to scan it is constantly scanning for a better reception

i am pretty sure it will work well , but will post up soon with the outcome.

just wondering where i can mount it other than the glovebox
