Water leak???

What a week, first get a offside rear puncture, then hit the biggest rabbit in Hampshire at 80mph which rips off my splitter and cracks the bumper.........and then today I thougt I'd give the LCR it's first proper hoover of the winter only to find that the drivers foot well and the rear passenger foot well soaked in water!

I think I have read about this before and a few suggestions were that the pollen filter was to blame for the leak, so I cheecked out the filter and it's in a shite condition (pic attached). So I will replece that ASAP.

Are there any other causes of water leaks (bearing in mind my LCR is on an 04 plate) that would only effect the drivers side??

Any help and adivce will be great.
Thanks.

Being the drivers side, i would say its nothing to do with the pollen filter etc. It's more than likely a case of removing the drivers door plastic trim, so you can see the insides of the door. Once this is off i expect you will see the bottom seal on the inside of the door has detiriorated, easy fix all you need is some good quality sealent.

There is also a fairly common problem with water getting in through seals/grommets in the bulkhead under the scuttle panel - it's been covered a few times in the last few months

I had this problem sealed up the auxilary carrier inside the door .... god i hope i don't have to tak ethat off !! but it happened again so took the drivers door card off and saw a water mark coming down from the bottom of the speaker housing, removed the speaker and sealed that in and cut the seal over the drainage holes and it hasn't happened since !!

The door sills are definitely favourite I'd say. It could be the front door as well as the back as the layout of the floor pan means that the front door can (and often does) leak into the rear footwell.

I luckily got mine fixed on SEAT's used warranty - mine was the front passenger door leaking into the rear footwell

me wheel centres are fairly small but they was fine until last couple of months and strongly segest you get some sealent for your doors as mines fine know other fault was where i put me 12v wire for my amp so id double check your polen filter an gromit just to the right of it i did mine on a **** day where it was ranin on an of but its still worked

water drains from the front into the back where it stores so you notice it in the back first it could still be your seals but id get your pollen filter done aswell or your defeating the object

I have stripped down the door and think I have found the problem. First, the metal plate which bolted to the inside of the door seemed to be leaking water right at the bottom, so that was unbolted and sealed. Secondly, the rubber seal underneath the door also seemed to be leaking, so that was sealed too.......so far so good, just needs a good downpour to test it!

Now I have gotta get my hands on a dehumidifier to get all the moisture out of the car!

your seal under the door should leak that wear your drainage holes are if youve sealed them and your inner door your doors will fill with water there should be three holes in that seal if you rin your thinger inbetween

I did the same on the bottom of the metal panel, although i found once i did that i had to take it all apart and seal round the bottom of the speaker aswell!!
