What is missing here?

There is a gap between the load cover and my back seats which means you can see right in to the boot.

Clearly there is something missing here. On my MK2 Octavia estate there was a tray (for an umbrella) and an extension from the load cover.

Here I have no tray or extension from the load cover. My initial thoughts are that there is an optional extra retractable boot divider net missing but can't work this out for sure.

Any idea what the best option would be here? Try and source a new load cover with extension, try and source a boot divider net or any other ideas to bridge this gap?

Any suggestions and / part numbers would be gratefully received.

Looks like they have installed the wrong load cover for your car. Mine has a flap that sits across the gap that is attached to the load cover. However yours has the roof notches for the rear net that can be used to extend up to the roof.

Thanks, so it looks like I need to source a new load cover or a rear net then.

It's part of the cover; or at least I couldn't see an easy way of separating the two when I had to modify ours so we could have both the dog guard and load cover in place at the same time.

If you didn’t have those holes in the roof, I’d say all you are missing is the flap. But as you have those holes I’m pretty sure you should have the cargo net instead.

I'll speak to the previous keeper tomorrow to see if by chance he still has it in his garage. No harm in trying before trying looking for a replacement part.

25 seconds in, is the bit you need for yours. Noticed on your other photo, not only do you have the notch’s in the roof, looks like you have some extra bits in the plastic behind the seats too.

My assumption is that it’s missing a dog guard rather than the cargo net due to the shape of the holes.

If you had the retractable cargo net, there are a second set of holes just in front of the rear grab handles so that the net can also be used with the rear seats down.

Thanks for this.

I think the best idea may be to try and obtain a retractable load cover with the extra flap and find some plastic covers for the holes in the headlining.

That actually would make sense. We've got the genuine SEAT steel dog guard which when in place doesn't allow you to fit the roller blind, due to the flap (that is missing on jonboys) taking up the space that the dog guard fills. I had to cut the flap down our ours as we wanted to be able to use the cover when the dog wasn't in the car - something that SEAT obviously hadn't considered!
