What REAL mpg do you get from yours?

Bog standard Leon Cupra TDI - my average is 46mpg, but 80% is motorway

well in my Xsara VTS which is replaced this afternoon i average 28.4 MPG, thats mainly motorway miles.

in my cupra tdi? who knows...

i was thinking petrol for some reason...didnt even know they made a tdi diesel mk2....it must have sucked balls haha!

My 1.4 TDI consistantly gets 48 - 49mpg (mixed driving but most of my journeys are in town). I havent done a long enough motorway journey to see what it does, haven't had it that long!

Does about 420 miles when the light comes on. This is worked out properly, brim to brim, record litres used and miles and work it out. My car doesn't have a trip computer.

The mpg seems to be improving as the car wears in. When it was new, it only did 45mpg. Now its creeped up to 49mpg, with 4000miles on the clock.

so far done 100 miles in the leon and the computer is saying the average is 41 MPG, however the needle has still not budged from the full mark...

said the range was 320 miles when i first filled up, now its showing 420.

Used shell v-power diesel so i dont know if thats meant to improve it or anything?

people interpret "tankful" differently, some will take that to mean the amount needed to refill "when the light comes on" and others "when the gauge looks a bit low"

Or my personal favourite "when the trip computer says 0 and has done for 'about' 30 miles and the needle is below the red" its time for a re-fill

usually get get 31-33 mpg in my LCR. best ive had from a tank was 38.4 mpg as i got 477 miles from a tank (empty to full on my leon being around 56.5 litres)

however most report anything from 22-28 on their LCRs.. so im just showing off..

The other good one is what I did for last year

"when the light comes on, you carry on driving down the motorway, then the trip computer goes to 0 and you carry on driving, then the needle drops below the red marker on the dash and you carry on driving..... then you arrive at GTi Fest @ Santa Pod and do 13 runs!! .... thats not all.. then drive out, drive past a crappy fuel station and stop at the next fuel station and throw in £20 to see the needle just go above the warning light "

Ibiza 130bhp 1.9 TDI (not the FR) - 50-60mpg calculated on runs to/from work (I start and leave early) - never seen less than 43-45mpg when the wolf comes out from under the sheep's clothing.

i have a standard 03plate 110 tdi leon.
its done 90K roughly, always has a full boot, (full of shite) and i get 45+mpg, even when im ragging.

thatl do me. i wish i got this instead of the saxo i had. (1.1i) and i pay the same tax as the saxo in this!

Average over a week is 53mpg give or take a bit. 90% motorway.

I have had 56.5pmg on a long full tank and half run.

after my first full tank I did 420 miles, thats from brimmed full to light on, computer showing 5 miles left. that included 8 drag races off the line with my mates 320ci, which i was pleasantly surprised with the results incidently.

Computer had average MPG at only 39! - which i feel is low, could it be that it was sat still from Nov 07 to march 08 and needs flushed out properly? i'm running it on V-Power diesel.

Do not know what are miles per gallon, but since I bought my MK1 TopSport TDI in December 2006 I've got 7,3L on 100km. That's average. mostly in city. And I'm not an easy driver.

you've the same problem as my 130. thats about all i get. used to be much much better. i'll work it out properly this week when i fill up.
