which part of the window mechanism assembly...?

last night it sounded as though the cable on the window clean snapped, a loud bang and gradually the window came down - leaving me driving a nice 20 miles motorway at 1am with an open window.

Which part has actually gone, i take it is the motor (as SEAT only supply cables with a new motor)

ECP now do pattern regulators for the MK2, approx £50 from memory (comes as a complete motor/regulator assembly)

Cheers roly, keep it in mind - although ive found a breakers with a 2.0 GTi 10 miles from me so im away with my toolbox today to rob parts off it and i'll take the door off him and swap it over as soon as i get a chance.

If its still got parts left, i'll put the guys number up and anyone needing parts off a GTi can phone him, seems reasonable

It sounds like your cable has snapped, but I'm afraid they do not sell just the cable, you will have to get a whole mechanism. Might be worth sending Kermitcupra a PM, because I know that when I bough a new mechanism off his mate, he got a spare one for himself as well just in case. So if he has still got it he might sell you that one.

otherwise Ebay is your friend. Just search for scrapped mk2 ibizas and then send the seller a message, asking if they still have the mechanism. You are aiming for about £35.

and for now just whip out the door card and jam a big bit of wood underneath the window to hold it closed and wound up.

david , can you see if the fuse cover panel/tray thing is there and the interior mirror plates for the doors ?

if its a 2.0 gti cupra 8v agg engine code could you get a price on the standard airbox posted for me? i also need the fittings/pipes etc as mine has a induction kit fitted and want to go back to standard

nothing worth taking on it really - couple of panels but nothing special.

I'll end up with a patterned one from ECP or a 2nd hand one if i can find one.
