Hello ladies and gents,
As some of you may know I had my cupra stolen after owning it for 3 months, obviously I was gutted but literally 6 week after the incident I was in a brand new gti. I dropped lucky with a showroom car at VW.

A family friend is a manager at a VW garage so the deal I got was unbelievable! Candy white, xenons with drls (a must option but rare!) And tints. So basically the car its self is about 3ks worth more than my cupra, but yet I'm paying less a month. Also due to the cupra not been made for months because of the facelift I received compensation from GAP insurance. So I actually ended up with more money. So sad as it may sound that was a little perk.

The other little perk, after owning the cupra and then the gti, I have to say (sorry scn) its amazing and I do prefer it. I know a lot may disagree but not all of you cupra owners have driven and lived with both. To drive it feels so much more solid, but yet racier and seems to want to go more. The gear changes feel more ferocious, the way it handles feel more direct. People will think this is an odd statement, but I'm positive it feels quicker. The cupra did have the mis firing issue though so I'm putting it down to it not running correctly.

As for insuranc, most of us young lads with the 1.4tsi will be insured by elephant, and I have to say, amazing! I received and cleared the cheque within 2 weeks. Gap (vri) were 15 days after that. But was fortunate enough to sort things out before their payout with savings etc.

Pics..........(taken on phone sorry :()

Gave the car a quick 4 hr detail on Tuesday. Including snowfoam tardis, IPA, and a wax/sealant (FinishKare1000PHi-TempSealant), will be machine polishing spring/summer.

Also, fitted the itg last night. It is slightly different, as cupra owners know the turbo seems to kick in at 4k? Well with the itg it kicks in as normal and seems to get up and go more at 5k. Pulls a little stronger and the noise is slightly different, turbo dumps more and exhaust note seems more raspy :). Btw, the exhaust on the gti is definitely more raspy when standard compared to cupra.
I loved and miss my cupra but really happy with the gti! :)

Looks great mate. I know 5ps wont make much of a difference in real terms but I think thats what the Polo's are putting out (185 instead of 180) like the Audi A1. Maybe like you say as this car is newer and has more uprated parts to sovle the issues it probs feels quicker.

Looks a great car mate nice review. Minus points for no Tribu on the GTi though :p

Tribu? I'm dumb, haha the exhaust I'm guessing.
Yeah I read they are 185 but I'm sure they used to be 180 but it would be typical vw Audi to do that always have to be a lil better! Its a dsg buddy, the only option but I would choose it anyway I'm sold on automatics well sold on dsg or other double clutch systems. Their seemless.
With the cupra I ran it sensible for 800 mile but after reading all the issues it seemed the people who drove them hard from the start seem better off. So I ragged it from 200 mile. Touch wood all good!

I'm feeling h&r springs, and revo stage one. And that'll be that :).
Ps, unless lotto comes in tonight its getting a hybrid.
