As title really... Just wanting to see what has/can been/be done with these engines that may or may not be able to be transferred across to the FR tdi lumps.

The way to go with the 170 fr is:
DPF removal
Panel filter or better flowing air filter
Larger bore exhaust system
Hybrid turbo
Custom remap
Bigger injector nozzels depending on what sort of power your after and money you wanna spend.
Same for the 140 really apart from it has no DPF to start with, both are fitted with a full FMIC, large intake piping and similiar exhaust systems.
Clutch needed before all that power that surely?
Bigger injectors are very expensive.
Injectors on our cars are maxed at between 240-250, so we are running as near as possible to the max output of the injectors, with a hybrid turbo, it wouldn't squeeze much more power but the power will be wider spread and last for longer throughout the rev range. Bigger injectors are very expensive. These engines are good for a max of 300bhp for internals.![]()
That's all very well knowing they are good for it but how do we go about reaching those figures...? Sitting around waiting for stage 3 is surely the lazy man's approach. We need to take direct action!![]()
IIRC upgraded injectors are around £800-£1000
