I am sure I will. Its just a pity we don't get more choice over the fabrics in the high trim model. I would rather not have had leather given the choice but it was more expensive having the lower trim models and adding the high trim features as options.

I wasn't keen on enforced leather on the Xcellence. Summer month in the south it gets hot and sticky, can make you feel sick to sit on. Keep a towel for that so as to sit on that. If you take it abroad in the summer gets even more silly. I bought Ozzie designed compact "Sun shades" sold as Outback shades which spring out to cover the front glass.

In the winter the leather isn't a problem with the heated seats. The Xcellence seats took to about 6,000 miles before they got comfortable. One sat more on top of the bucket than in it. Now I get better back support as one fits into the seats so I don't twist out sidewise cornering etc. Think the leather / bolster gave way but took a time.

One advantage of the leather seats you can clean them but I wouldn't buy them by choice and you didn't have that choice at launch. I dam them Spring to Autumn.

Look forwards to you getting your car and posting up each of the virtual cockpit screens.

I'm sure it will be good. I haven't had any mechanical problems with my 190 DSG. I have disabled the SS thou since I considered it dangerous living in the busy south east of England. Some people frig the electric hand brake on and off. I just keep mine on auto all the time. You can do the normal DSG creep if you don't stop so that takes out any jerk as the handbrake comes off. Similar with parking, hard stops are to be avoided. Gentle foot when accelerating away since the 190 engine has a lot of power and will jerk the DSG gear changes around 1-2.

I never use the padels or sport mode. I drove an Altea DSG for 12 years. The Ateca went well in 4Drive on a bit of snow this winter. It's very grippy and stable at high speeds. Good on German unrestricted autobahn when it happily runs at over 100 mph... I think that's it's true habitat running at speed. Back in the UK I use the speed warnings based on the maps and uploaded speed camera database to keep legal.

If your fingers flip a paddle on a roundabout by accident and you get stuck in gear you pull the DSG to shift it back out rather than trying to remember whether its the left or right paddle to get it back to normal :).

Got an email from my dealer yesterday saying they got a build date for my Ateca.
Week 48 !!!!
Bloody hell.
I called to them and he is in contact with Seat Ireland to try get this brought forward.
Failing that it looks as though I will have to cancel my order and buy something else :(

That's two months over a nominal wait of 5 months for a new car. Waits in continental Europe were always much longer than in the UK at launch then it appeared to change. Not sure of the current situation. There are very many more about than in 2016. Definitely can say that although it does depended on location, others dealers and standing. Moved from an Audi area to a sensible Seat area ;).

Too long for me unfortunately as I was originally told it would be ready for collection on the 10th August ( 12th actually as 10th is Saturday and would not be able to register it then)

Just ordered a MY2021 Ateca FR 1.5 DSG in Nevada White. should hopefully arrive by the end of November

I was meant to be taking delivery of a new Karoq Sportline next week only to be told by the lease company 2 days ago that to many orders were placed on the deal and not enough cars. lets just say I was not best pleased seen as I ordered he car back in July. really like the new facelift of the Ateca just a shame that it doesnt have some of the nice to haves as the Karoq Sportline e.g heated wheel/seats, pan roof and power tailgate.

out of anger I did not order the Ateca from the same broker
