Interested to know why people here bought the Cupra/Boc over the rivals such as the Skoda Fabia vRS, Polo GTI, Citreon DS3 Dsport, Clio etc etc

Ignoring price, why did you pick the Ibiza?

Clio suffered from a lack of torque & economy. DS3 Sport wan't very sporting with its low BHP. Ibiza was cheaper than the VW & the Skoda & didn't look half as squinty as the fabia

Best all round package ... decent performance at relatively cheap cost ... tax, insurance was far less than rivals. Better mpg than rivals. Just a fun car that is significantly different from a lot of what else is out there.

A few reasons really:-

Skoda Fabia vRS - nice but 5 doors put me off, ibiza has a better spec and has a nicer interior IMO
Polo GTI - way too overpriced
Citreon DS3 / Dsport - Nice cars but seeing alot of them about, its a citroen,
Clio - was my previous car (not a sport though) too expensive to run / insure/ tax. also wanted a change away from a renault

Other reasons - rare car (never see many about), cheap to run, cheap to tax, cheap to insure (main perk), best looking of all the above, fun to drive, comfortable.

also as soon as i was thinking about changing cars and came across them and this forum, i instantly knew i wanted one (did come close to buying a punto abarth mind)

Had a Corsa VXR before i got the boc and then new cupra. Love the car. VXR caused nothing but problems and since i got the boc then cupra i've never looked back. My mate has a corsa VXR and finds it difficult to live with the 1.4 TSI beast. Ha! Love it! :D

Nice comments JHouse although they're not so much rare nowadays the standard ibiza's I mean not the Cupras
Seeing alot running in the streets and I wanna debage mine now so if someone comes to race me he'll think mine is just the normal version too and blast him out :D

cheap to tax cheap to insure...goes like sh!t off a shovel...gets 40mpg on a regular basis looks amazing came with great kit as standard

reasons didnt go for rivals....civic type r (used) lack of torque, vauchall vxr...just far to common, fiesta zetecs not enough power....clio cost to run everyday is to expensive....

just a wee summary lol

Bought it on the fact is was so quick and drivable for a low cost! Insurance and tax being so low too!

Was ment to be a second car to it's big brother the Leon Cupra but the wee one keeps the Leon at bay until 3rd gear etc! Magic wee car! :)

I tested a Fabia and while it was the same engine/gearbox i thought the body of the fabia looked pinched!

From the front it looked thin and tall...Also spec standard was sparce.

I agree mate but from what I have heard I doubt it will be a 1.6 but a new version of the 1.4 but without the supercharger.

I like the supercharger, i guess they are talking about a bigger single turbo then?
I DO like the fact tho that the boc does get a lot of attention when out and about, prob is am an old bugger..
