Window issue

The electric windows in my mk3 Leon have stopped working. Long pressing the key button works to get them up / down, and they sometimes work intermittently but after 5 or so minutes of holding the button. Can hear the motor when I try and lower the passenger side. Does anyone know what this could be? Is it a switch / regulator issue?

If they go up and down fine from the remote then the mechanicals are fine and it would appear to be a control issue. 3 door 5 door ? All switch's / windows or just from driver's door ? Any fault codes, if you have means of checking?
