Hi guys,

I just had my wishbone bushed replaced under warranty but still not happy with them at all! What a daft design!

Have a look at the pics of the new bushes on full lock! I cant imagine how useless they are when the car is actually moving.

Anyway with this in mind im not wanting to replace the again as i dont want to pay the cash right now based on how much Seat would have charged me but I have seen some power flex inserts that look like the go on with out taking the whole old bush out etc.

can anyone give me the part number for this?

thanks guys:funk:

The powerflex ones (PFF85-602) come in 2 parts a purple disc about the size of the bush with 4 pegs coming off, these push into the voids, then there is a small black insert that *should* hold it in place, they aren't that good at the job and they do have a habit of dropping out. My local mechanic has them in stock but only to replace ones that drop out, he prefers to fit the solid Cupra ones.

Ah good work :) I do realise that they may not be as good as the cupra ones, I tried to have the Seat garage fit these but they refused. I am just hoping for a little bit less movement and they are only £40 where as it would cost me much more to have it all done again.

Think ill give them a try, any one used them before?

thanks..

I think that if you are going to try to get some "use" out of these new voided bushes and do this by using the Powerflex inserts, then I've heard that some people secure them with tiewraps - probably looks messy but might keep them in place.

If the OEM are trashed why will you put the Poweflex on? The Powerflex only makes sense if the OEM is in perfect condition, If not, totaly wasted money. Install the cupra one.

my OEM ones arent that bad...the reason why i havent got the cupra ones yet are because they are a mare to fit DIY..i dont have the cash yet to get a stealer to fit them..

I'm totally confused I've bought some and though they were a replacement bush it doesnt say anything about putting them over the old ones?
Ive bought powerflex front front bushes and intent to use cupra front rear bushes is this all wrong?

The photo you posted was complete replacement bushes for the front of the front wishbone aimez.

You can also buy the inserts that fill the voids on the rear of the front wishbone. Many people on here though, prefer to use the Cupra bushes instead of standard bushes fitted with inserts

dont think it will be that much like I got charged an hours labour from a local garage.

That is strange - unless of course your local garage can fit them without first removing the TCAs and maybe the consoles. The main problem is that when the consoles are removed, there are no referance points to bolt everything up accurately. Now if the front suspension is not accurately positioned wrt the rear wheels and the center line of the car - and the camber and caster are not checked/reset/equalised, then your car will end up driving like a bag of poo. My local VAG indep specialist charged me about £80 for fitting both sides and about the same for a comprehensive four wheel realignment on his fancy madern jig - there is no room to reduce the cost of all that work down to an hours labour and still get the correct end result IMHO.

A Seat dealer fitted my new void bushes under warranty and i am not convinced that the camber was correctly set. The car had to go back the next day as the steering was all over the place.

I have a half a mind to go and get the camber read and a print out to go back to Seat with.

Anyway where are people ordering powerflex bushes from?
