If I purchased a genuine cable and software from rosstech or whoever would I be able to use it not only with personal laptop and car but also with my works laptop and company car.

ive got a non genuine serial rosstec one from ebay, they arnt illegal and work fine with vagcom (25 quid delivered for the cable , huge savings!), the latest versions mightnt as he has started to monopolise his cables tho. vagcom is vagcom for our motors tho so latest version isnt necessarily any better anyway.

I bought a cable off ebay, and can i get it to work, can i buggery. Ive had to buy another cable to transfer it to USB so that might be the problem, I just put it down to experience, and start saving for the real thing !

empie it might just be a buggered cable, try it on someone elses pc and car to double check.
