To answer a lot of the technical questions of the Ateca the full workshop manuals are available by an hourly or daily rate for download as PDF files. You can browse but can't download if you don't pay.

https://erwin.seat.com/erwin/showHome.do

7 Euro's + VAT gives you the ability to download in an hour the complete set of PDF maintenance and workshop manuals for the Ateca (pretty vast) + the SSP training guides for staff + VIN build data. Also on the site is recall information and host of other information. After the car has been serviced you should also be able to see the record of what was done.

If you buy an hours time, probably best to download the VIN lookup build data, go onto the maintenance and workshop manuals download, then go onto the SSP training manual. It appears that if you don't move out of the PDF download area you might be able to complete a full download if the time does run out but obviously what you can do in 60 minutes is dependent on internet speed.

A word of warning, when paying by credit card it wants your address in European style:

Street, number

Else if wont' validate your credit card correctly.

Probably it's also a good idea to go online before the car is serviced so you can check recall notices, software updates and download any updated maintenance / workshop manuals. Essentially it's like having a big Hayes guide online. It's a good set of reference materiel on the Ateca.

Tell, sounds too good to be true.
I bought an hours access with a very fast internet which downloaded each manual as fast as I clicked on it. But the bit I wanted, i.e. vehicle specific information, failed. It reported "It is not possible to call up vehicle data. Please contact your workshop or importer responsible for your market if you want further information"
I'm hoping to do most services myself now that the car is out of warranty at over three years old and 20K miles. But there was no information about what has been done, what upgrades are required and what the recommended service involves. But I did get a load of bulletins and self learning modules.

Yes I've never seen the service record on it but I might have not looked close enough. Suppose to be there. The VIN lookup with build codes is useful if there are issues about what is in the car.

The maintenence manual which you will have downloaded covers when maintenence task needs to be completed. You could work on the basis that it was on a Seat / Cupra plan then check what isn't done against what is recommended in the maintenence manual. The plans are designed to get the minimum cheap service before the car is passed on in a PCP agreement. Some people just stumble through on the two year long service so it might not even been serviced if it went in on the third year 🤔. There is a display that tells you when the oil needs changing part of the cars system. That trips over the cheapskates that think they can spin it out to two years. All depends on the mileage.

You could probably get a dealer to lookup whether it was on a plan in checking what needs to be done in a general enquiry to see how much it would cost.... that would answer your question. Then say you'll think about it 🤔.
