Wheels - powder coat or paint?

Hi Guys,

I’ve just picked up some Revo RF018s. Unfortunately, they don’t make them in silver anymore and as I needed them quickly, I’ve had to get gloss black.

I’m not really keen on black wheels, and if I do decide I want them silver, what would my options be?

My local place is saying that as they aren’t diamond cut, the only option is to strip them and power coat them (for £450, does this sound right?). I thought an option would be to strip them and clear coat, or paint over the black and clear coat, but they’re saying it’s not.

Thank you!

I paid £50-00 a wheel to have mine powder coated, that included taking tyre off and refitting and balancing. I would shop around to see if you can get a better price. Might be worth telling people your locations so they may be able to recommend a local guy who has done a good job.

Yes, my thought was that £450 was a bit steep.

I’m at Uni in Southampton, but am willing to travel to Portsmouth, Bournemouth, etc. Home for me is South London, so willing to see someone up there, or anywhere between here and there!
