how to gain around 240 - 270bhp auq?

Ina do a complete kit for less than £500 delivered. Everything you need to replace the rods. (gaskets head bolts and even timing belt etc.) would advise honing the cylinders and fitting new piston rings for a fresher running engine. Also if your budget allows get uprated valves as then you will have nothing to worry about.

I was advised to change FPR to map to stage 2. Not got the intercooler on (yet) so haven't got an exact Bhp for you. Is a 3" downpipe really necessary?!

Thats because you have a revo map, no other mapper that i have spoken to advises changing the FPR, you change the injectors if more fuel is required..

Nitrous may kill stock rods even quicker than a big turbo kit.

Reason: rods can withstand increased cylinder pressures associated with high boost running, with a bit of luck people ran even 300-320bhp on stock rods for years. But detonations (even worse, detonation in the pre-ignition phase) break them easily. So a nitrous kit, added to an engine like the 1.8T which runs compression ratios above 9:1 with 20-plus psi boosts, would detonate even easier and blow everything to pieces.

Im running 261BHP with stock k03s. Aim around 240BHP and the rest is icing on the cake! Mapping was done by the well known VAG tuning company JD Engineering in Lochem (NL).

-3" Toyosports Downpipe
-Magnaflow 200cpi sportcat
-Cobra Catback
-SFS Oversized TIP
-Blox Velocity Stack intake
-Toyosports piping + ASH FMIC
-BAM racing phenolic intake spacer
-NGK spark plugs (1 degree colder)
-QSP raceware extra fuel pump
-4BAR FPR (dont add this unless the mapping is adjusted!)
-Forge 006 with yellow spring (turbo max 1.3 bar boost)

Power figures with BP Ultimate RON 98 + 5L Bio Ethanol E85. Wihout the Bio Ethanol about 10BHP lower.

Dont forget supporting mods, like the n249/n112 mod and UPGRADE YOUR BRAKES (uprated brake pads like EBC Red/yellowstuff or Ferodo DS2500)! Also dont forget good tires, as brakes slow down the wheels+tyres. Worthwile: Powerflex dogbone mounts and polybushing the suspension parts.
