I got rid of my 2004 Seat Ibiza 2.0 Sport with a heavy heart as I needed a bigger car. Sold it on pistonheads for a good amount so bought a Vauxhall Vectra 3.0 CDTI V6 SRI NAV (185bhp).
Enjoyed it for the first week but found myself missing my Seat. Vauxhalls are not made to the same spec even if on paper their spec is higher. I missed the handling of the Seat, with a bit of speed when cornering the Vectra would just end up going straight on with alot of tyre noise. The V6 was good though, but proved pretty pointless when trying to manouvre around the windy roads of Devon.
A few worringly cluncks coming from various parts and an erratic idle problem made me part ways with the vectra after only 6 weeks. Plus the wife found it difficult to park.
I have now rejoined the Seat world with a 2006 Seat Leon 2.0 Sport HDI and am loving it. Once again the wife can drive to work without worrying me to death and it handles like a dream. I wasn't brave enough to put her in a cupra though but the current version I have is not bad at all
