mk3 golf airbox

does anybody know if the airbox/inlet from a mk3 golf 1.4 with the abd engine will fit onto my mk2 ibiza 1.4 also with the abd engine, im just a bit confused as the 2 engines look slitely different, basically i want to get rif of the huge round airbox at the top of the engine for example the pic of my engine below

and make it look a bit more open like the mk3 golf below

obviously where the big black box is on the end i will put maybe a k&n apollo or something. does anybody understand where im comin from??? any help and comments appreciated
