Do I need the reflector H7R hids in the Leon or not, or do many of you have probs with dazzling other motorists with the H7s?
the issue is with xenon lights needing to have by law light washers to keep clean.
I've had both and would say stick with H7.
Got the H7R first and they didn't seem to have enough length on the beam if you know what I mean. The bottom half of the bulb was covered which meant that you could see no light was coming from the bottom half of the headlight.
Changed them for normal H7 using the same ballasts and it's much better. Still no dazzling oncoming traffic and not been flashed once.
Edit: got the 6000k H7's by the way

Just the answer I was looking for, I needed a direct comparison.

Is it possible to hide the ballast and/or put a slightly darker filter over the lenses so that they don't look quite so insanely bright for the test? I've never had HIDs so I don't know exactly how the tester spots them.
Well that's no use. How about a body-coloured vinyl wrap, covered in oil and mounted against the bodywork? Then it'd look like a piece of metal![]()
