Audi are doing it too. I have spoken to a mate who works for Audi, he says he will let me know.
As for being worried, theres plenty more on these bloomin things to worry about

I rang my local Seat dealer today, gave them my reg but they said there was nothing outstanding on their system applying to my reg, so I guess Seat aren't following in line with VW and Audi, at least not yet.

I'd be amazed if they were giving out free valets tbh. Even if they were, I wouldn't want my local stealer attempting to wash my car, I've seen them wash their stock cars on the forecourt. I'll just take the coilpacks thanksverymuch...

In Poole there is a guy that washed cars everyday at the Mitso dealers.
I was at that college next to the dealers for 4 years (1 year 7 days a week, 3 years oneday a week) and he was always there.... wouldnt want him washing mine tbh!

Anyway, the recall is to INSPECT the coil packs and POSSIBLY replace them on VW and Audi. Plus if Seat take this recall on, it wont be for ages. As there will be over a 12 month waiting list for replacement parts when the inspections have been carried out, due to the number of affectedcars.
Also, if you have replaced your coilpacks, your car may be ok, as it only applies to certain Serial Numbers of pack.

Wonder what versions of the coilpacks they're on the look out for? My Octy vRS has revision L coils in (manufactured in 2003).

Wonder if I can convince SEAT to change mine

Seat ARE carrying out inspections of coilpacks, but there is no 'racall' with Seat as it is not a safety related issue, They will be inspecting all cars that they work on for other reasons.

Could be worth contacting them if you think you are affected.

And also, the coilpacks going IN to the cars have been in circulation already for a while, so just because you have replaced 8 or so already, your car may still NOT be affected. (Could have the new ones in)

Have you had this done?
