Gonna be purchasing a FR TDI in the next few days and these guys have come up with a good deal.. anyone used them or does anyone know of another cheap company?
If you have used them what are they like and what do i need to watch for if anything?

Also i am selling my Cupra TDI 150, Emocion Red, 54 Plate with FSH and 55,000 on the clock.. what do you reckon i will get for this if i sell it private.. the stealers are offering £9750 and are then selling them for about £12k:censored:

Cheers for the help!

ive never used them but my house mate just bought an MX5 through them.

You pay them the £500 deposit - they transfer it directly to the supplying dealer. They then contact you to sort everything out.

So the service very much depends on the dealer that you get - but you can complain to DriveTheDeal themselves and they have some weight they can throw around on your behalf.

From the way the order went for the MX5 i would use them myself

MX5's are alot more common than a TDI FR tho, theres the possibility of long wait times from what ive read about internet dealers.
As dchbrown said, Drive the Deal don't supply the cars. They just act as intermediaries and put you in touch with a UK franchised SEAT dealer after taking their commission. So I wouldn't have thought delivery times would be any different from buying direct from a dealer.

Broadspeed use a similar system. I don't know how their prices compare.:)

Drivethedeal.com are really good, I used it to purchase my MK V Golf GTi, I preordered this from them in November 2004 , Car release was Jan 2005, I got mine in March 2005.

This was inline with other people that had ordered directly from dealers, full UK car plus I got 2.5K off all the options.

This car was in very hot demand too as most people are aware, they stopped doing the discount around 1 week after I ordered mine.

The way it works is drivethedeal through all their business in the direction on one UK dealer, they get their profit from the large quantity of deals.

No difference in waiting times as the dealer then contacts you too place an order, mine was a factory order fully specced up.

We got offered a deal that was close to the Drive The Deal quote on our FR TDI. It just might be easier to talk to your local dealer.

We got our 2.0TFSI through Drive the Deal. TO be fair their service was simple and hassle free. We just had a bit of hassle from the dealer as they forgot to fit the ipod kit and elivered it anyway. Should be sorted soon and not DTD's fault.

I would highly recommend.
good luck.

Drive the deal also deliver the car to your house.

The Dealer they ordered my Golf GTi from was VW specialist cars in Aberdeen, they then shipped it down on a transported to Basingstoke without an extra charge.

Highly recommended

Hi guys, new to the forum. Been browsing for a while but finally felt the need to post.
I too am after a new FR, been to a dealer today and spoke to another on the phone. Both got quite angry when I mentioned "drivethedeal", they started saying the discount is impossible from a dealer, cars are imports, you're stuffed if anything goes wrong etc etc. Spoke to drivethedeal and they totally reassured me about their service. Also read some other peoples reviews on the web and all reports were good. So in summary I think I will also be ordering a new FR from drivethedeal so thanks shafton red for starting this topic and bringing this to my attention.

Thats because they are gtting screwed out of commission, they are definitely not imports. MY MK V GTi was a UK car from a UK dealer.

That's why I stopped buying from dealers a long time ago, most are stuck up @rseholes that think they are doing you a favour.

When I brought a BMW 325ci sport convertible 4 years back, went into BMW they were arrogant so I went to Jamjar to get it, When I got a VW Golf GTi MK V 1.5 years ago - VW thought they were selling me a porsche and wouldn't let me take it for a test drive until I signed on the dotted line.

Drivethedeal and the dealer they ordered from were very professional and helpfull, I really can't recommend it highly enough.

I had a scuffed aloy when mine arrived, I phoned the dealer and they got it replaced straight away and sent to me.

By the way I noticed someone ordered from the drive the deal and was quoted 10 -12 weeks, someone at work has just ordered one direct from a Seat dealer and he has been quoted the same time.

Cheers sw1, I agree about the dealers. They didnt even have an FR TDI to test drive, only the one in the showroom which they cant move! They also had a TDI140 Revo'd to 185-190 which they compared to an FR but no-one is allowed to test drive it, not even the other salesmen? What is with that, dont they want to sell it? He made some excuse saying too many boy-racers are wasting their time. For one I aint a boy racer and I just found him rude! So I wont be going back there, but I do need to give the FR a spin before parting with the cash.
Both dealers and drivethedeal are quoting the same times for delivery, apparantly only a few weeks if it's not specced with too much.

I have specced one up on Drivethedeal with pretty much everything for £17.9K, that's an absolute bargain.

Thats Xenons, conivenance pack, ipod integration, 18" alloys + Spare, Bluetooth, Sunroof + heated seats
