located

I have a 98 Seat Ibiza 1.4 8v and would like to double check where the thermostat is located. Its on the right hand side of the engine. I can see where the coolant temp sensor goes. Is it in the pipe that goes next to this.

I just picked up my new Seat Ibiza yesterday and I've been trying to plug in a diagnostic cable but I can't find where the port is located on the 2009 model....can anyone shed any light on this??? So far my only disappointment with the car is the fact that it doesn't come with automatic...
